Carol MacKinnon is an Associate of The Coaching Project, Inc. where she delivers innovative Leader Coach® training and individual and team coaching.

Carol’s coaching practice is focused on supporting leaders eager to increase their personal and organizational effectiveness, starting “from the inside out”. In coaching teams, she often works concurrently at the individual and collective level, facilitating processes of learning, group goal setting, measurement and creating coaching cultures. Carol is a certified coach from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.

Clients seek out Carol’s inspiring facilitation style to deliver coaching training and cultural change consulting programs, particularly in the contexts of mergers, divestitures or large scale organizational change. She has established a particular expertise in the creation and implementation of leadership competency models and development strategies to support these change initiatives.

Focusing on supporting clients seeking to ensure people strategies align with business goals, Carol has been a consultant, a leader, innovator and teacher in the Compensation, Performance Management and HR strategy field for more than 25 years. In 1998 she was recognized by the Human Resources Management Association with the Award of Merit for her contribution to her clients, her colleagues and her profession.

Carol teaches in Athabasca University’s MBA Program in leadership, culture change, coaching and high performance. She won the first President’s Award for Tutoring/ Mentoring Excellence in 2002.

Some recent clients include: BCTel/TELUS; Electronic Arts, the RCMP, the Salvation Army, Sugoi, the Dr. Peter Centre and CUMIS. With Susan Wright, she co-authored Leadership Alchemy: The Magic of the Leader Coach®.

    I have recently updated The Coaching Project website.  I’ve put it off for a long while as I anticipated it would be an onerous task.  The difficulty is that to change the website, I had to ask myself: Who am I now as TCP’s leader?  And how can I best tell TCP’s story?  These are never easy questions.  Although we are in the business of change, none of us is immune to the resistance that inevitably accompanies it.
